I got my teaser image back from monikadeviat today! I used to stress myself out and be anxious for months before a shoot, but over the past 5 years of angelsaerialfitness shoots I’ve had a shift in mindset and learned some valuable lessons. The ones that stand out are: 1. The goal isn’t to love your body 100% of the time or to always hit the new move and advance in a linear way without setbacks. The goal is more-so to not let insecurities, doubts and hurdles stop you from doing what you love, to love yourself unconditionally, and to respect all your body can do for you at every phase of life. 2. Simple poses are gorgeous and you don’t need to be at a certain skill level to do a shoot or to pole! It really is for everyone who wants to do it. I remember thinking shoots were only for the “advanced polers”. I honestly find myself gravitating towards more simple poses because they look clean and you can really focus on intricacies like facial expressions and hand positioning, etc. If you want to do the shoot, DO IT! 3. Ask for help! It makes a world of difference having someone there to tuck in that party b00b, fix the hair, spin the pole, tell you to point your toes, spot you into a move, etc. Humans aren’t meant to do things alone; asking for help doesn’t make you weak - it makes you strong. Unless it’s eating a burger, then I’m better off solo. 🤙🏼 4. If you’re happy, comfortable in your skin, and having fun, that’s what people will see! That’s what people will pick up on and remember. Vibes are contagious, so is energy! Every move may not work out, but if you can keep going and keep your head up, you’ll be just fine! I promise 🖤 5. Play to your strengths! If you’re a flexy human, rock that jade split or spatchcock. If you’re a strong girlie/gent, do the Ayesha! If you love feeling sensual and sexy, do the floor pose or show off that booty! Do what you’re comfortable with and what makes you feel good, don’t worry about what anybody else is doing! It’s great to always want to improve and to strive for excellence, but just worry about you and not what others are doing. That’s my reflection.
