What I wore last night to see the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) perform The Nightmare Before Christmas entirely with the film! I absolutely loved it! Please appreciate my little Zero figure – he is obviously my favourite character (since there really aren’t any cats in the film). I’ve owned this dress for years but have never worn it, amazingly. I bought it secondhand from a seller in the UK (I think?) but it fit so strangely that I just never wanted to wear it. It gaped in odd places, the sleeve holes were so low and exposed too much. Over the years, I’d try to make alterations but ultimately it’s probably just poorly designed. Maybe meant for someone with a very long torso and also very blessed in the chest area. Anyway, long story short, I took some Lolita inspo and decided to wear it like a JSK and layer it over a long sleeved top. Problem solved with the overexposed gaping and super low neckline. I layered a pair of ruffled bloomers underneath for some extra poof and tied the sash in the front instead of the back. Small things but I will probably wear it again like this! I was soooo pleased to wear a long-neglected pewter bat necklace perfectly framed in the negative space of the turtleneck and dress neckline 🦇 Coincidentally I touched up my hair colour and it matched so nicely!
